Azithral 500mg
Azithral 500 mg treats certain bacterial infections such as eyes, ears, sinus, skin, throat, and airways by preventing bacteria's growth. It contains the active ingredient Azithromycin, a group known as antibiotics. This class of medicine slows down the growth or sometimes kill harmful bacteria. The medicine does not treat a viral infection like flu or a common cold. Azithral tablets should only be used if advised by your doctor. Azithral is commonly prescribed in case of adults and children both. Studies show that this medicine also effectively treats typhoid fever and sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea.
What are the Usage Instructions?
Azithral 500 mg may be taken before (1 hour) or after (2 hours) consuming a meal. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Do not chew or break the pill. Skipping doses or not completing the course may make you more prone to have re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. This medicine is only effective in treating the infections caused by bacteria and not viruses or fungi. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor. To avoid missing the dose, take medicine at the same time regularly.
What are the Precautions?
Azithral 500 mg tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to its ingredients. Let your doctor know if you have liver, heart, or kidney problems. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding. Azithromycin is not known to affect the driving ability of the patient. However, adverse effects such as dizziness and blurred vision may be experienced while using the medicine. Hence, it is advised to avoid driving, especially if you develop such side effects. One should not consume alcohol, and this antibiotic drug as alcohol can worsen the side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, and stomach upset. Azithromycin may interact with other medicines; discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, including supplements and herbal preparations you are taking. Also, you should let your doctor know if you have planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.
