Medicines for HIV and AIDS are formulated to decrease the amount of Human immunodeficiency virus in the body and to strengthen the immune system. There are different types of HIV medicines available online to prevent the multiplication of the virus.
About HIV
HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, which destroys CD4 T cells in the body. These cells are a type of white blood cell (WBC) and are required for protecting the body against various bacteria, viruses, and other germs. The virus multiplies within CD4 cells and cannot be destroyed by WBCs. AIDS has acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, which is an illness resulting from a weakened immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus.
It is important to note that when you are first infected with HIV, you do not have AIDS. The condition usually occurs after several years of being affected by HIV and subsequent developing infections and other HIV-related illnesses. Early treatment can reduce the chance of developing AIDS. HIV can’t be cured, but it can be treatable, and most people with HIV can remain fit and well.
Medications for HIV
Medicines used for managing HIV and AIDS are often called antiretroviral medicines. The primary function of antiretroviral drugs is to stop HIV from making copies of itself. They are used to decrease the amount of viral load in the body. Such medications give your immune system time to regain strength and allow your body to make more CD4 T cells. This ultimately makes you less likely to get infections. Different types of medications belong to different drug classes. Their mechanism of action slightly differs, but all have the same target, which is to stop HIV from copying itself. These medications work best when they are given in combination with other medications to treat HIV.
Tenvir EM against HIV
Tenvir EM is one of the main drugs used to combat HIV. It is a combination of two drugs, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. The antiviral medication controls and prevents HIV from multiplying in the body and enhances the immune system. It should be given along with other antiviral agents to lower the chance of developing HIV complications and to slow down the progression of diseases from HIV to AIDS. According to clinical experts, using more than one type of medication can prevent the body from becoming immune to the treatment.
Uses of Tenvir EM
It is recommended to take it once daily. The medication is available as a tablet to be taken without regard to food. A patient must consider consulting a health care specialist for the correct dosage, as the right dosage will depend on various factors, including medical condition, age, kidney function, and response to the therapy. One must always keep in mind that the antiretroviral drug can only be used to control and slow down the progression of HIV; it cannot be used to cure the condition.
Warnings associated with Tenvir EM
A patient must immediately visit the nearest health care center if you have developed an allergic reaction. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include chest tightness, skin rashes, hives, trouble swallowing, and difficulty breathing. The medication is not suitable for all patients. It is always necessary to consult a health care specialist before using any medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Moreover, if you plan to conceive, you must take a healthcare specialist’s advice before planning a family. Also, tell your health expert about all the medications you have been using, whether a prescription or a non-prescription one. Avoid adjusting your dosing plan without discussing it with your healthcare specialist.
