Infertility is a rising problem of today’s era. What is Pregnyl?

Pregnyl is a brand name of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) medication. HCG is a pregnancy hormone and doctors’ prescribe it to women to induce ovulation. HCG in the form of medication is used as injections. These injections can also be called trigger shots as they trigger the process of ovulation in women.

A woman with a polycystic ovarian syndrome or an ovulation finds difficulty getting pregnant. During the condition, the ovary of a woman does not release eggs, and Pregnyl is given to begin the release of eggs from the ovary.

Women who don’t ovulate, they may be treated with a low dose of a fertility drug such as clomifene citrate to induce ovulation in them. Then Pregnyl or HCG injection may be given to finish the egg maturation and cause a release from the ovary so that it can fertilize. Pregnyl is meant to be injected intramuscularly. Side effects include inflammation at the injection site and bloating.

A daily injection for 7 to 10 days is used to induce ovulation and produce more than one egg. The whole process involves careful monitoring of the ovaries with tests like ultrasounds and blood hormone level every alternative day. When the eggs mature, An HCG shot is given to stimulate the process of ovulation in women.

Pregnyl Injection and Ovulation

Pregnyl 5000 IU injections contain human chorionic gonadotropin hormone that helps the egg in a woman’s ovary to develop normally. It helps stimulate the release of an egg during ovulation, treats infertility in women. Pregnyl injection, when taken in the early stages of pregnancy, prevents miscarriage.

Woman with suspected pregnancy, large ovarian cysts, undiagnosed cancer, should not be treated with Pregnyl shots. Ovarian hyperstimulation and multiple births are the serious complications of this treatment.
