Cardivas CR 10 mg
Cardivas CR 10 mg extended-release tablets are a prescription medicine that belongs to a group of medicines known as beta blockers. It is often used with other medicines to treat patients with high blood pressure (hypertension). It treats patients with a heart attack that worsens how well the heart pumps. It is effective in treating patients with certain types of heart failure. The anti-hypertensive drug is available as an extended-release tablet for oral administration. It is not approved for use in children under 18.
How to use Cardivas CR 10 mg?
Take Cardivas CR 10 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take the extended-release tablet one time each day with food. To minimize the side effects, your doctor begins with a low dose and then gradually increases the dose. Swallow the pill with a glass full of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. If you have trouble swallowing the whole tablet, the tablet may be carefully broken into two, which should be taken with water. Do not stop the treatment or change the amount of medicine without talking to your doctor.
What are the Precautions (warning, allergy, things to remember)?
Cardivas CR may cause you to feel dizzy, faint, or tired. Do not drive a car, use machines, or do anything that requires all your attention if you have these symptoms.
Do not take Carvedilol extended-release tablet under the following conditions:
- Severe heart failure that requires certain intravenous medicines that help support circulation
- Asthma or breathing problems
- Slow heartbeat or certain conditions that cause irregular heartbeat
- Liver problems
- An allergic reaction to Carvedilol extended-release tablet
Tell your doctor about all the medical conditions, including if you have:
- Diabetes
- Thyroid problems
- Diabetes
- Asthma or other lung problems
- Severe allergic reactions
Your doctor should also be aware of your scheduled surgery and will be given anaesthetic agents.

What are the Side effects of Cardivas CR 10 mg?
Common side effects of Cardivas CR 10 mg include weight gain, tiredness, diarrhoea, and shortness of breath. If you wear contact lenses, you may have fewer tears and episodes of dry eyes that can become troublesome. Contact your doctor if any side effect bothers you or don’t go away.
Serious side effects include:
Slow heartbeat, Low blood pressure, Chest pain and heart attack if you suddenly stop taking Cardivas CR, Worsening heart failure, Change in your blood sugar levels, and Severe allergic reactions.
Contact your doctor immediately if you develop any of these serious side effects.
