Dabigo 150mg
Dabigo contains the active ingredient Dabigatran, an anticoagulant or blood thinner. It helps in the treatment and prevention of blood clots. Your doctor may prescribe Dabigo capsules to prevent blood clots in the veins after knee or hip replacement surgery. Dabigatran treats blood clots in the veins of your legs and lungs and reduces the risk of recurrence of blood clots.
How to use Dabigo 150 mg?
You can take Dabigo 150 mg capsule before or after consuming food. You can swallow the capsule with a glass of water. Do not chew or empty the pellets from the capsule since this may increase the risk of bleeding. Your doctor will decide how you should take Dabigatran capsules. Follow your doctor’s instructions. Take the capsules exactly s prescribed by your doctor. You may be asked to take the capsules twice daily. If you have a potentially high risk of bleeding, your doctor may prescribe a lower strength of Dabigatran. Without specific guidance from your doctor, do not make any changes to your anticoagulant therapy. Taking too much of the capsules may increase the risk of bleeding. Contact your doctor if you suspect excessive dosing of Dabigatran.
What precautions should be taken?
Dabigo 150 mg should not be used in the following conditions:
- Active bleeding
- History of serious hypersensitivity reaction to Dabigatran or any other excipients of the medicine.
There is an increased risk of blood clotting after premature discontinuation. If the anticoagulant therapy is discontinued for a reason rather than pathological bleeding or completion of a course of therapy, your doctor may prescribe another anticoagulant for some time and restart Dabigo capsules as soon as medically appropriate. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before taking medicine. Making certain lifestyle modifications such as eating a healthy diet, getting regular exercise, and losing weight can reduce the risk of having a blood clot.
What are the side effects of Dabigo 150 mg?
Common side effects of Dabigo 150 are a fall in the amount of haemoglobin in the blood and bleeding. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience a serious allergic reaction that causes breathing problems or dizziness symptoms. If you experience severe bleeding that does not stop, consult your doctor immediately.
