Dorzox eye drop 2%

Dorzox Eye Drop is recommended to treat intraocular pressure in the patients who have glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Specially formulated for topical ophthalmic application, Dorzox eye care solution contains dorzolamide hydrochloride (dorzolamide HCl) that is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. Since high intraocular weight or liquid weight inside the eye pose a danger for glaucoma, this medicine helps to reduce that pressure and brings down weight inside the eye. Usually, clogging in the intraocular path due to flaky-like particles raise the pressure in the eye. This eye drop can mitigate that pressure to avoid the risk of pseudo-exfoliative glaucoma. Dorzolamide is an FDA pregnancy category C eye care solution and it is not known if it can harm an unborn baby if used during pregnancy. Dorzox is available in the strength of 2% (5 ml) eye drop and Dorzolamide is sold under various trade names. The drug is manufactured by Cipla Limited.

What is Dorzox Eye Drop used for?

Dorzox Eye Drops are used to relieve intraocular pressure in order to treat glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Its regular application can treat intraocular pressure in the patients with ocular hypertension, open-angle glaucoma, or pseudo-exfoliative glaucoma.

How does Dorzox Eye Drop work?

Dorzolamide belongs to a class of medications called carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. It is present in Dorzox Eye Drops, can significantly reduce the amount of fluid in the eyes, bringing down eye pressure. Dorzolamide’s capacity to inhibit carbonic anhydrase in the ciliary processes of an eye can decrease aqueous humor secretion, presumably by slowing the formation of bicarbonate ions, with subsequent reduction in sodium and fluid transport. Therefore, intraocular pressure (IOP) comes down. It does not cause pupillary constriction in the eyes.

What does Dorzox Eye Drops contain?

Dorzox eye drops contain Dorzolamide hydrochloride as the main active ingredient, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor formulated for topical ophthalmic use. Benzalkonium chloride (0.075 ml) and timolol maleate ophthalmic solution are other ingredients available in this medicine. These ingredients work together to relieve intraocular pressure in the eyes.
