Esperal 250 mg is a drug used in the treatment of chronic alcoholism. It helps in keeping the person away from drinking alcohol by causing unpleasant adverse events that will occur if a person takes alcohol while consuming Esperal. It is used along with the counselling support to help a person to stop drinking alcohol. The active ingredient contained in the Esperal 250 mg tablet is Disulfiram.
What is Esperal 250mg used for?
Esperal 250 mg is used in the treatment of deep-rooted alcoholism. It is used together with counselling, support and psychotherapy to treat alcohol use disorder. The drug is not as a cure for the disorder. Chronic alcoholism is used as a broad term for any alcohol intake that result in problems. Disulfiram produces an acute sensitivity to ethanol (alcohol).

How should Esperal be taken?
Esperal comes in the tablet form. The usual dose of the drug is one tablet in a day. It should be taken with or without a meal or as recommended by the physician.
