Fosirol sachet 3gm
Fosirol sachet 3 gm contains Fosfomycin tromethamine, an antibiotic for oral administration. It is available as a single-dose sachet to treat or prevent urinary tract infections.
The medication contains the active ingredient Fosfomycin, which kills bacteria responsible for causing urinary tract infections. It effectively improves symptoms and cures the infection. Fosirol is not effective against viral infections such as flu and common cold. Using any antibiotic agent when not required can cause it not to work for future infections. Fosfomycin should not be used for the treatment of infections outside the bladder.
How to use (infographics and instructions)
After emptying the bladder, Fosirol should be taken on an empty stomach before bedtime. You must take it regularly as advised by the health care specialist. The dose of the medication usually depends on what you are being treated for, but be sure to complete the full course of this antibiotic medication. If you discontinue treatment early, some bacteria may remain in your body, and the infection may return. Usually, one sachet as a single dose is used. Mix the medicine with water before taking it. Pour the content of one sachet into a glass of cold water and stir to dissolve the solution. Avoid using warm water. Drink the solution straight away.
Your symptoms should improve in 2 to 3 days. Inform your healthcare professional if your condition does not improve or worsen after three days.
Precautions (warning, allergy, things to remember)
Fosirol is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to this medication or any other ingredient in the formulation. Safety and effectiveness have not been established in children under 18. Before using this medication, you should let your healthcare specialist know if you have liver or kidney problems. You may be advised to change your treatment if you develop a kidney infection.
This antibiotic drug may make you dizzy. The use of marijuana and alcohol can make you more dizzy. Do not drive, use machines, or do anything that requires your complete attention until you can do it safely. Limit alcohol consumption. The product has sugar or aspartame. Caution is exercised if you have diabetes, phenylketonuria, or any other medical issue that requires you to limit or avoid these substances in your diet.
This antibiotic may cause your typhoid or other live bacterial vaccines not to work well. During pregnancy, Fosirol should only be used when required. This medication may pass into breast milk in small amounts but is unlikely to harm a nursing infant.
