Saxagliptin comes from a class of medicines known as DPP-4 inhibitors (dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors), and metformin belongs to a group of medicine called biguanides. These two active ingredients work together to curb blood sugar.

Medications interact with Kombiglyze XR:

In the same way, Kombiglyze XR may interact with some Beta-blocker medications (such as glaucoma eye drops, metoprolol, propranolol). • have problems with kidney function
• experience severe allergic reactions like swelling of the face, lips, throat and skin areas
• feel difficulty in breathing or swallowing
• have metabolic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis
• have high blood triglyceride levels
• have a skin rash, itching, flaking or peeling of the skin

 The process to take Kombiglyze XR 5/1000

Kombiglyze XR tablets can be taken orally with a little amount of water. Don’t crush or chew its tablet before swallowing. Experts suggest patients should take this drug with the regular meal, as it helps them lower the possibility of an upset stomach. Usually, one tablet is taken once a day.

 How long should you use Kombiglyze XR 5/1000?

Patients with Type 2 diabetes have to complete the course of medication as prescribed by their doctors. There is no specific duration of its course, so take it as long as your doctor suggests.

 Missed dose of Kombiglyze XR:

In case you have missed taking the regular dose of Kombiglyze XR, do not take a double dose to compensate the loss. It is advised to take the next dose as per the regular schedule.
