Natrise 15mg
Natrise 15mg is a prescription medicine used to treat low sodium levels in the blood. It is especially effective in adults with liver disease, heart failure, and certain hormone imbalances. Natrise contains the active substance Tolvaptan, which helps raise sodium levels in your blood by removing extra fluid as urine. It is not known if this medicine is safe to use in children.
How to use Natrise 15 mg?
Take Natrise tablet the same way your doctor prescribes you. One should carefully follow all the directions given by their doctor. You can take the tablet before or after consuming food. Grapefruit juice could cause you to have too much Tolvaptan in your blood; therefore, avoid it. Certain medical conditions may keep you from drinking fluids or cause you to lose more fluid from your body, such as vomiting or diarrhea. If you develop these problems, talk to your doctor immediately.
What precautions should be taken?
Do not take Natrise 15 mg if you cannot replace fluids by drinking or if you cannot feel if you are thirsty. You should avoid taking this medicine if you are dizzy or your kidneys are not working properly because of excessive loss of fluids. Some medicines could cause you to have too much Tolvaptan in your blood. These include antibiotics, antifungals, HIV medicines, and antidepressants. Talk to your doctor if you are not sure about your medicine. Also, tell your doctor about all medical conditions, including if you have kidney problems, have allergies, are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Natrise may make the salt level in your blood rise too fast. This may increase your risk of getting a serious condition called osmotic demyelination syndrome (ODS), which leads to death. ODS can give rise to new symptoms, including drowsiness, mood changes, seizures, confusion, trouble speaking, and difficult controlling body movements. You should inform your doctor right away if you develop any of these symptoms, even if they occur at later stages of the treatment.
What are the side effects of Natrise 15 mg?
The most common side effects of Natrise 15 are dry mouth, thirst, constipation, weakness, increased blood sugar levels and urinating often. Speak to your doctor about any side effect that bothers you or do not resolve within a few days of beginning the treatment.
