Olmezest Am (5/20) tablet is a combination drug consisting of Amlodipine and Olmesartan used to control high PB (blood pressure) and relax heart muscles and blood vessels. Doctors prescribe this medicine to patients with a high cardiovascular risk. The medicine effectively lowers high blood pressure while reducing the chance of heart attack and stroke. Olmesartan relaxes and widens your blood vessels and lowers your blood pressure to make it easier for your heart to pump blood throughout your body. The effect of Olmezest Am (5/20mg) tablet lasts for an average duration of 24 hours. It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids while taking Olmezest AM 5/20 tablet.
What precautions should be taken?
Talk to your doctor if you are :
- Allergic (hypersensitive) to this medicine
- Suffering from kidney, heart or liver problems.
- Have increased levels of potassium in your blood.
- Suffering from yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice) or problems with the bile drainage from the gallbladder.
- Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Olmezest Am (5/20) tablet as it may further lower your blood pressure. Also, inform your doctor if you take other blood pressure-lowering medicines.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or thinking of getting pregnant, ask your doctor before taking this medicine as it may cause serious harm to your baby. Olmezeston Am 5/20 mg tablet is not recommended for children below 18.

The common side effects of Olmezest AM 5/20 are:

How to use Olmezest Am (5/20) tablet?
The recommended dose of Olmezest AM 5/20 mg is once daily. It can be taken with or without food with a glass of water. Do not chew or break the medicine. Take medicine every day to maintain a constant level in the blood. Your doctor will advise the dose depending on your blood pressure level. Olmezest AM 5/20 may increase potassium in the blood, so avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as bananas and broccoli. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you feel dizzy after having Olmezest Am 5/20mg tablet. While using the medicine, your doctor will ask you to monitor your blood pressure regularly, and your kidney function may also need to be tested from time to time to see the effects of the medicine.
