Seroflo Rotacaps 500mcg is prescribed for preventing asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The combination medicine is a long-term treatment to prevent or decrease breathing problems and wheezing caused by asthma or ongoing lung disease. The multi Haler does not work immediately and should not be used for sudden asthma attacks.

The physician prescribes it for the maintenance treatment of asthma and patients requiring oral corticosteroid therapy for asthma. The combination formulation is the only treatment for asthma and a controlling agent for COPD; it should not be used as a cure for the problem. 

Seroflo Rotacaps 500mcg Haler contains two active ingredients: Fluticasone Propionate and Salmeterol. Both drugs work together to prevent asthma attacks. Fluticasone propionate falls into the corticosteroid category; it helps keep a check on releasing the substance that causes inflammation. Salmeterol Xinafoate, another active ingredient of the medication, is a bronchodilator, which works by relaxing the muscles and allowing easy breathing by opening up the airways in the lungs.

How to use?

While using the Seroflo Multihaler, you need to keep a few things in mind:

• The dosage of Seroflo multihaler depends on the age and severity of the condition. Therefore, use this medication only as directed by your physician.
• Before starting to inhale, you need to shake the multihaler gently. Shake it for every five seconds after each spray.
• It is recommended to rinse the mouth after each spray as this will reduce the risk of yeast infection in the mouth.
• Seroflo mutihaler should be used as long as the physician recommends. You must always consult your physician before stopping or altering the dosage.

Precautions and warning

Seroflo Rotacaps 500mcg may affect the working of other drugs, and other drugs may affect the mechanism of action of Fluticasone Propionate and Salmeterol.

Seroflo Multi Haler should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Fluticasone Propionate, Salmeterol, and any other components of the preparation. It is not recommended for children under four years of age. Pregnant or expecting women should consult a gynecologist if they are prescribed this medicine.

Side effects

Some common side effects of Seroflo Rotacaps 500 mcg include mild fever, nausea, bleeding of the nose, tightness in the chest, cough, vomiting, stuffy nose, hoarseness in the voice, sneezing, sores on the lips or mouth, and sinus pain.
