Tazret Forte Cream 15g

Tazret Forte Cream 0.1%  contains the active ingredient Tazarotene, a member of the acetylenic class of retinoids. It is indicated for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis and acne. The medication may decrease skin inflammation and skin changes associated with psoriasis. Tazret cream prevents whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, and dark spots. It is the perfect cure for all these skin problems because it does not only reduces the appearance of red patches, but it also relieves itching and pain associated with symptoms of psoriasis. Tazarotene acts by helping skin cells to grow normally as well as having an inflammatory effect in plaque psoriasis and acne.

What is Tazret Forte cream used for? 

Tazret 0.1 % cream is used for the topical treatment of patients with stable plaque psoriasis. The skin disease, Psoriasis is marked by red, itchy, and scaly patches called plaques. The drug is also indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Acne is marked by inflamed or non-inflamed pimples on the skin.

How does Tazret Forte cream work?

Tazret Forte cream contains the active ingredient Tazarotene, which is a synthetic, topical retinoid. The active substance induces the expression of a tumor suppressor gene called TIG3. In Psoriasis, Tazarotene normalizes abnormal keratinocyte differentiation and reduces their hyperproliferation.

What does Tazret Forte cream contain?

Tazret Forte cream 15g cream contains the active ingredient Tazarotene, which is a third generation prscription topical retinoid sold as a cream or cream form. Each 15g tube of Tazret cream contains 0.1% of Tazarotene.

What medications interact with Tazret Forte cream?

Concomitant dermatological cosmetics and medications that have a strong drying effect should be avoided. It is also advisable to rest a patient’s skin until the effects of such agents subside before use of Tazret Forte cream 0.1%.

When should Tazret not be used?

  • Tazret Forte cream 0.1% should not be used in women who are or may be pregnant. If this medicine is used during pregnancy, or if the woman becomes pregnant while using this medication, treatment should be discontinued and the woman informed of the potential risk to the fetus. Women of reproductive potential should be warned of the potential risk and use of adequate contraceptive measures when Target cream is used. The possibility that a woman is pregnant at the time of institution of treatment should be considered.
  • It should not be used in individuals who have shown hypersensitivity to Tazret Forte cream or its components.

How long should you use Tazret Forte cream?

For the treatment of psoriasis and acne, Tazret Forte cream 0.1% may be used up to 12 weeks. Ask your physician for more information related to the usage of the drug.

Missed dose of Tazret Forte cream

If you forget or miss a dose of Tazret Forte cream 0.1%, do not try to make it up. Go back to your normal application schedule as soon as you can.

How should Tazret Forte cream be stored?

Store it in a safe place where children and pets cannot reach it. It should be stored at room temperature. 

 

What are the side effects of Tazret Forte cream?

Psoriasis: The most frequent side effects reported with Tazret Forte cream were limited to the skin. Those occurring in 15 to 30% of patients included burning, stinging, pruritus, erythema, irritation, worsening of psoriasis, and skin pain. Side effects occurring in 5 to 10% of patients included rash, irritant contact dermatitis, fissuring, desquamation, dry skin, and skin inflammation.

Acne: The most frequent side effects reported with the drug in the treatment of acne occurring in 10 to 30% of patients, included stinging, burning, dry skin, desquamation, pruritus, and erythema. Events occurring in 1 to 10 % included fissuring, skin discoloration, localized edema, and skin pain.

The side effects that are mentioned above have been identified during the post marketing of Tazret Forte cream in clinical practice. Because they are observed voluntarily from a population of unknown size, it is not always possible to reliably evaluate their frequency or establish a cause relationship with the medication.

How should Tazret be used?

Application of Tazret cream may cause excessive irritation in the skin of certain sensitive persons. In cases where it has been essential to temporarily the treatment, or the dosing has been reduced to a low concentration, or to time interval the patient can tolerate, treatment can be restarted, or the frequency of application can be increased as the patient becomes able to tolerate the treatment. The frequency of application should be closely monitored by careful observation of the skin tolerance and therapeutic response. It should be applied once daily.

  • For the treatment of psoriasis, it is suggested that the treatment with Tazret 0.05% with the dose increased to 0.1% if medically indicated and tolerated. Apply it once daily, in the evening to psoriatic lesions, use enough to cover the affected areas with a thin film with no more than 20% of body surface area. If a bath is taken before application, the skin should be patted dry before applying the medication. If moisturizers are used, they should be applied at least one hour before applying the cream. Avoid using it on the unaffected skin as these areas may be more susceptible to irritation.
  • For the treatment of acne, first clean the face gently. After the skin is dry, apply a thin film of cream once a day in the evening, to the area where acne lesions appear. Use enough amounts to cover the affected area. Always wash your hand after application.
