Tugain solution 10 (60 ml)
Tugain solution 10 (60ml) is a hair growth topical formula containing Minoxidil, which is indicated for treating male androgenic alopecia (male pattern baldness) on the top of the scalp. It is not approved for use in women. The effectiveness of the hair growth product in the treatment of receding hairlines has not been demonstrated in clinical trials. The effect of the hair solution is maintained only for as long as it is used. Treatment discontinuation will result in the newly regrown hair loss within about three months, and progressive hair loss will resume.
How to use
Apply one ml with the help of a dropper twice daily directly onto the scalp in the hair loss area. Using the solution more often will not improve results. Continued use is necessary for hair regrowth; otherwise, hair loss will begin again. Stop using and ask a doctor if you do not see hair regrowth in four months or get unwanted facial hair growth.
Precautions
The safety and effectiveness of Tugain hair solution in men over 65 years and children under 18 years have not been evaluated in research studies. Therefore, it is important to consult a doctor before using the Tugain solution.
Tugain solution 10 should not be used:
- In women
- People with a history of hypersensitivity to Minoxidil or any ingredients present in the formulation.
- In men whose baldness is not due to hereditary factors, hair growth solution such as Tugain is only effective for treating male pattern baldness.
- In people with any scalp problems, including sunburn or psoriasis
- In people with shaved scalps or whose scalp is inflamed, broken, infected, irritated, or severely sunburned.
- For treating scalp skin conditions if occlusive dressings or other therapeutic medications are being used.
Certain prescription and non-prescription drugs, certain treatments, such as cancer, chemotherapy, or certain disorders, such as thyroid disorders, iron deficiency, and syphilis, as well as certain nutritional problems, may also cause temporary hair loss, which should not be treated with Minoxidil.
The product should only be used on the scalp. Before applying the product, it is important to determine whether the scalp is normal and healthy. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Minoxidil contains alcohol which may make your eyes burn or irritate. In case of accidental contact with sensitive surfaces (such as irritated skin, eyes, nose, or mouth), the area should be bathed with lots of water. Shedding of hair may occur within two to six weeks of starting the treatment, likely due to minoxidil action on transforming hairs from the resting to the growing anagen phase of the hair follicle cycle. If hair shedding persists for more than two weeks, it is best to stop applying the solution and consult your doctor. Tugain should not be used when there is no family history of hair loss, and your hair loss is sudden or patchy, or other unknown reasons for hair loss.
Some people have noticed changes in their hair colour and texture. The solution will not work overnight; it takes time to regrow hair. You may need to use this hair growth product twice daily for at least four months before seeing results. The amount of hair growth is different for everyone. This formulation will not work for everyone.
Side effects
The most frequently encountered side effects in clinical trials with Tugain solution were minor respiratory issues, including cold and respiratory infections, sinusitis, rhinitis, and coughing. Other side effects include itching, scaling, and rash. Talk to your doctor if you develop any other side effects or if any of them become bothersome.
