Volibo M 0.3/500 mg is used to control high blood sugar, along with a proper diet and exercise program. It is effective for people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar levels helps prevent complications associated with diabetes, including kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Adequate control of diabetes may also lessen the risk of heart complications such as heart attack or stroke.
Volibo M is a combination of Voglibose and Metformin, which stimulates the body to release more insulin (a hormone that allows the body to use sugar (glucose) from the diet properly.
How to use
The dosage of Voglibo M should be individualized based on effectiveness and tolerance. It is usually recommended two times daily for adequate blood sugar control. Follow the dosage prescribed by your doctor. The dose taken before meals has been effective and recommended by most doctors. The tablet can be taken before or after a meal or snack. Swallow the tablet without chewing, breaking, or crushing it. If you miss a dose, please consume it immediately once you remember. However, if you remember the next day, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not attempt to take two doses on the same day to make up for the missed one.
Precautions
Always take Volibo M according to the doctor’s instructions. Depending on your response to the treatment, the doctor alters your dose. Your dose may increase or decrease depending on your condition. You should check with your doctor if you are not sure. Volibo M should not be given to patients with known hypersensitivity to Voglibose, Metformin, or other inactive constituents.
Patients suffering from inflammatory bowel syndrome, diabetic ketoacidosis, colonic ulcerations, partial intestinal obstruction, and chronic disorders should brief their condition to their doctor before taking this medicine. The antidiabetic drug should be given with caution when used along with other antidiabetic agents such as biguanide, sulfonyl amide, sulfonylurea, and insulin preparations for improving insulin resistance.
Side effects
Research studies have shown that Volibo M helps to control blood sugar in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The most common side effects of Volibo M are given below:
- Gastrointestinal tract - flatulence, bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, abdominal fullness, and nausea
- Liver problems - hepatitis with severe cholestasis
- Central nervous system disorders - vomiting, nausea, and dizziness.
