Volibo R 0.3/1mg
Volibo R 0.3/1 mg is an antidiabetic medicine. It contains Voglibose and Repaglinide as the active ingredients. It is prescribed for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Repaglinide causes an increase in the amount of insulin produced by the pancreas by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin to your body. It helps regulate the amount of sugar in the bloodstream.
Voglibose helps control blood sugar levels by inhibiting the alpha-glucosidase intestinal enzyme and delaying the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestines. Together they work to prevent a sudden blood sugar hike after meals. The antidiabetic agent is often used in combination with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients to help control blood sugar levels.
How to use
Take Volibo R orally before or after consuming food as directed by the doctor, usually once daily in the morning. Swallow the pill with water without breaking, chewing, or crushing the pill. The dosage is based on the medical condition and response to treatment. Use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
Let your doctor know if your condition does not worsen (your blood sugar becomes too low or too high). Do not stop treatment even if you feel better, as your blood glucose level keeps changing. If you stop taking Volibo R abruptly, it may increase your blood sugar levels which could further increase the risk of vision loss, severe kidney disease, and nerve damage. Volibo R should not be taken if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus or severe liver or kidney disease.
Precautions
Volibo R is not recommended for people with people who are hypersensitive to Repaglinide or Voglibose. The antidiabetic agent may also contain inactive ingredients that cause allergic reactions or other problems. Before you take Volibo R, inform your doctor if you have been asked to undergo major surgery or have severe illness trauma, chronic intestinal disease, infection, fever, or kidney disease such as mild to moderate, severe renal impairment. During pregnancy/lactation, this antidiabetic agent should only be used when medically required and advised.
Side effects
Some people may experience common side effects such as hypoglycemia, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical help and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to speak to your doctor if you develop side effects persistently.
